BMW E90 320D 174 BHP EDC17CP02 Stage 1 Remap
The BMW E90 320D from 2007 to 2009 comes fitted with the Bosch EDC17CP02 ECU which responds very well to a Stage 1 remap.
The stage 1 remap takes you from 174 BHP to a peak power of 230 BHP and we will give you a torque increase from 350Nm stock right up to 440Nm. The way we deliver the torque is smooth and progressive and as such is more friendly for your clutch or auto gearbox, yet you’ll still be pushed to the back of your seat with a nice smile on your face.

You can program the Bosch EDC17CP02 ECU yourself using our MyGenius tool. This can program directly over the OBD port without needing to remove the ECU. With this tool you can change the remap whenever you choose, we can also give you multiple maps with different power levels.

Programming Methods – OBD2 or KTAG
Programming via OBD EDC17
- Obtain a suitable programming tool; we recommend to use Dimsport MyGenius.
- Connect to the OBD port of your car, make sure you have battery support to the vehicle battery.
- ID the ECU and then take a read of the ECUs flash memory.
- Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
- Send payment through our webshop.
- We will modify the software and send back to you. This normally takes less than 2 to 3 hours during working days.
- Using the same tool you can then write to the ECU. This will overwrite the ECUs flash memory, it’s important not to interrupt the process.
- Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!
Bench Programming via KTAG EDC17
- Order a suitable tool such as KTAG
- Install the tool to a reliable laptop.
- The ECU must be removed from the vehicle, and then the ECU needs to be opened, don’t attempt this unless you know what you are doing otherwise you can damage the ECU.
- Connect boot pin to processor and CAN hi Lo / +12v / GND to pins on ECU
- ID the ECU and then take a read of the ECUs memories for a backup (please save separately, and not as a combined file).
- Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
- Send payment through our webshop.
- We will modify the software and send back to you. This normally takes less than 2 to 3 hours during work days.
- Using the same tool, ID then write to the ECU. This will overwrite the ECUs memory, it’s important not to interrupt the process. If you encounter any problems we can fix the ECU for you so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about (You can always repair an ECU if you take a full backup of all memories).
- Straighten the lid on the ECU and seal with a little silicone.
- Refit the ECU and start the engine.
- Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!
