Stage 1 Torque

If you’re considering a remap for your Peugeot 208 1.6 BlueHDI, then you’re in the right place. At HDI Tuning, we have the most advanced remaps designed specifically for this engine and ECU type (Bosch EDC17C60). We’ve invested countless hours of research and development to produce this refined remap. An HDI Tuning remap isn’t just about adding power; it’s about reliability too.

The 75 BHP and also the 100 BHP versions of the 1.6 Blue HDI come with the same turbo and injectors. This means that we can enhance power with our remap without requiring any changes to your vehicle’s core components, so the benefits of the 75 BHP engine mirror those of the 100BHP model.

Peugeot 208 1.6 BlueHDI 75 – Stage 1 (126 BHP | 300 Nm)

Our Stage 1 remap for the Peugeot 208 1.6 BlueHDI 75 BHP brings forth 300Nm of torque, and the peak BHP stands at 126. The stage 1 remap ensures even torque delivery throughout the rev band, allowing the vehicle to run smoothly, much like a boosted version straight from the manufacturer.
The AdBlue and DPF system remain unaffected by our remap. We always stay within standard air-fuel ratios to ensure a clean burn. When we adjust the ECU, we stick closely to the OEM torque models inside the ECU and never deviate from the injection maps, giving you reliable power without causing harm to the DPF. Additionally, you may observe a minor increase in fuel efficiency after the stage 1 remap.

If you’re interested in programming the ECU on your own, you can use the MyGenius OBD programmer. This tool works via the OBD diagnostic port, meaning there’s no need to take out the ECU.

Stage 3 (150 BHP | 320 Nm)

Our Stage 3 remap requires a turbo upgrade and will take your 75 BHP BlueHDI to 150BHP and a staggering 320Nm of torque. The stage 3 performance remap provides consistent smooth torque through the entire rev range and great top end power. The 120 BHP BlueHDI engine is fitted with an excellent fourth generation Garrett GTD1244VZ turbo from the factory, we simply need to fit this turbo and then the software is changed to take account of this. There is no need to change the injectors as these are the same on all 1.6 BlueHDI engines.

Stage 3 (185 BHP)

The Stage 3 remap uses a hybrid GTD12 turbo. The turbo needs an upgraded 49mm compressor wheel fitted and the compressor housing machined to match. The turbine side is unchanged, the thrust bearing should be upgraded to a 360 bearing to add strength.

This remap also requires an upgraded intercooler, ceramic paddle clutch (there is a LOT of torque) and a full 2.5 inch exhaust system.

Which vehicles are covered?

The power figures quoted on this page are applicable to the following vehicle models if fitted with a Bosch EDC17C60 ECU and the 1.6 Euro 6 BlueHDI engine:

Peugeot Partner 1.6 8v 75 BHP BlueHDI
Peugeot Expert 1.6 HDI 8v 75 BHP vans BlueHDI
Citroen Berlingo 1.6 8v 75 BHP van BlueHDI
Citroen Dispatch and Citroen Jumpy 1.6 8v 75 BHP vans BlueHDI

If your vehicle is not listed directly but you have the 1.6 75 BlueHDI 8v engine with the TD02 turbo charger and AdBlue fitted, you can assume these figures will be correct.

Programming Methods – OBD2 or bench programming

Only genuine tuning tools can program the EDC17C60 over OBD such as Autotuner, Combiloader, and now we can also program this ECU type using Dimsport MyGenius.

Recommended programming method:

Program over OBD using the Dimsport MyGenius standalone tool

blank

The Dimsport MyGenius tool is the safest, easiest and most reliable way to program your ECU from home. Simply connect to the OBD port and let the tool do the work, no need to remove your ECU or bench program for most ECU types. For more information have a read here

Programming via Bench service mode PCM Flash or any tools with bench service mode

This is our preferred way to program. The ECU must be removed, but there is no need to open the ECU and risk damage. A full backup can be made of both the EEPROM and the internal flash memories, also the external flash can be read on models where this is present.

  • Order a tool such as KTM bench or PCM Flash.
  • Remove ECU from the vehicle.
  • Connect specified wires to ECU plug connector.
  • ID the ECU.
  • Read the ECU memories.
  • Email software to HDI Tuning.
  • Wait for us to prepare your remap and return it back to you.
  • Program the remap to the ECU using the same method taken to read the ECU.
  • Refit the ECU, check engine starts.
  • Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!

Bench Programming via KTAG

  • Order a suitable tool such as Kess KTAG
  • Install the tool to a reliable laptop.
  • The ECU must be removed from the vehicle, and then the lid can be carefully pried open and removed. The best way to do this is with 1 small flat head screw driver, 1 medium, and one large. A heat gun will help soften the sealant. Always start at the end furthest from the flat bonded section of the lid. If you attempt to pry open this end you will damage the ECU. A video guide is available on youtube.
  • Connect necessary pins to ECU connector plug.
  • Connect boot pin to correct location. The processor is a TC1793.
  • ID the ECU.
  • Take a read of all memories present.
  • Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
  • Send payment through our webshop.
  • We will modify the software and send back to you. This normally takes less than 2 to 3 hours during work days.
  • Using the same tool, ID then write to the ECU. This will overwrite the ECUs memory, it’s important not to interrupt the process. If you encounter any problems we can fix the ECU for you so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about, if you made a backup of all memories you’re extra safe in the event that something were to go wrong.
  • Straighten the lid on the ECU and seal with a little silicone.
  • Refit the ECU and start the engine.
  • Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!

Programming via OBD EDC17C60

  • Obtain a suitable programming tool. We recommend Dimsport MyGenius if you want to program over OBD.
  • Install the tool to a reliable laptop.
  • Connect to the OBD port of your car, make sure you have backup chargers to the vehicle battery and the laptop battery.
  • ID the ECU and then take a read of the ECUs flash memory.
  • Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
  • Send payment through our webshop.
