1.4 HDI 8V 54 BHP 2005 – 2014 Siemens SID805

90 BHP

Stage 1 Power

200 Nm

Stage 1 Torque

Stage 1 (90 BHP | 200 Nm)

The 1.4 HDI 54 BHP variant comes from the factory with a much lower power output than other 1.4 HDI models, as the gearbox is rated to a lower torque level. HDI Tuning will take your 1.4 HDI to 90 BHP and 200Nm. Our remap stays within the safe limit of the gearbox, whilst still providing plenty of margin for safety. The torque delivery is smooth and controlled and this is an important factor to look after your clutch and gearbox.

The remap will make the car much more driveable; torque is increased through the entire rev range, and the engine will have enough power to pull at higher RPMs also. Thanks to the low weight of the C1 and 107 you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the responsiveness and power from such a small engine. The stage 1 remap is designed to be safe for a standard engine with no modifications. The power curve will be continuous and will not drop off like the stock mapping, this means you have a longer usable rev range when you need it for over taking manoeuvres.

Stage 2

On the 1.4 68 BHP we skip the stage 2 step as the KP35 turbo is very small and we wouldn’t want to over stress it.

Stage 3 (110 to 120 BHP | 230 to 250 Nm)

For the HDI tuning stage 3 upgrade we need to fit the TD02 turbo charger from the 1.6 90 BHP model (from 2010 models onwards). This is not such a straightforward upgrade but it’s worth the extra work, it also bolts on to the manifold, although if you use the entire manifold from the 1.6 this will flow better and matches the exhaust ports of the 1.4/1.6 engine exactly.

You will need to swap the actuator for a pressure actuator, this can be controlled by drilling/tapping a pressure feed into the side of the compressor just like the stock turbo.

Next you must fit a front mounted intercooler, a boost gauge, full exhaust system and a ceramic paddle clutch to handle all that extra torque.

(Another good option is to use a GTD1244VZ turbo from the 1.6 BlueHDI 120, the VNT can be regulated using an external controller called Digibooster-S. This turbo will deliver much better low down boost and also some more top end boost.)

For stage 3 tuning it’s important to consider that the gear box is not designed to handle so much power. We can reduce low down torque to add some safety, or you can try to get the gearbox strengthened.

Programming Methods – OBD2

The Siemens SID805 had a 512KB flash memory containing the performance maps. Not many tools offer great support for these less common ECUs.

You can program the ECU yourself using our online remapping service. A great tool to use on the PSA Siemens ECUs is called I O Terminal which is designed specifically for the SID branch of ECUs. You can also use the Kess V2 tool or the latest version of MPPS to program over OBD, although some models will require a full ‘boot mode’ read on the bench such as SID806. We do not work with virtual reads, as these can cause problems due to the different line swapping formats that can be available.

If you prefer to send the ECU to us for the programming work, you can use our postal remap service.

Programming via OBD SID805

  • Obtain a suitable programming tool, we recommend I O Terminal with the Siemens module.
  • Install the tool to a reliable laptop.
  • Connect to the OBD port of your car, make sure you have backup chargers to the vehicle battery and the laptop battery.
  • ID the ECU and then take a read of the ECUs flash memory.
  • Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
  • Send payment through our webshop.
  • We will modify the software and send back to you. This normally takes less than 2 to 3 hours during working days.
  • Using the same tool, ID then write to the ECU. This will overwrite the ECUs flash memory, it’s important not to interrupt the process. If you encounter any problems we can fix the ECU for you so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.
  • Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!
