The GT1544V Turbo comes fitted as standard to the 1.6 16v 110 engine. It’s also a popular upgrade to go from 90 BHP to 145 BHP with our custom made VNT enabled software.
We offer two levels of GT1544V turbo:
1 – Standard GT1544V refurbished and upgraded from an original Garrett GT1544V turbo. This turbo will come with an uprated 360 degree thrust bearing which adds both strength and reliability. On top of this you get a 1 year Warranty from the date of Purchase against manufacturing defects.
2 – The Hybrid GT15 comes with a 49mm compressor wheel. This offers excellent spool characteristics whilst delivering enough air for 180 BHP plus at the top end. The turbo comes with the upgraded 360 degree thrust bearing which means we can run higher boost whilst not compromising on reliability. Our 2 year warranty will cover any build defects. So far we’ve never needed to do a warranty claim on one of these, they are really strong turbos and our turbo builder has great customer care.
The get maximum performance from your 1.6 HDI or TDCI engine, the turbo will require a specialist remap which will be custom written from HDI Tuning Ltd. We are still the only company able to fully enable VNT software on the 1.6 16v engines with the Bosch EDC16 ECU.
