The Peugeot 208 1.5 BlueHDI 100 comes fitted with the latest Bosch MD1 control system. It’s a very advanced ECU which does require a competent tuner to adjust the torque model correctly, and this ECU will also need to be bench programmed. Most tuning tools can do this over bench service mode which does not require the ECU to be opened. If you bring the car in to our workshop or send the ECU in to us we will handle all the hard work for you. You can also use our online service if you find a suitable programming tool.
The 1.5 Blue HDI also comes with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR/AdBlue) and a DPF system. When remapping with a HDI Tuning remap you can safely keep all of these systems active. Our Stage 1 remap is designed to run clean and smoke free so there’s no increased risk of the particle filter clogging.

130 BHP |
We’ve been working hard to bring to you the latest and most advanced remap available for the Peugeot 208 1.5 DV5RD BlueHDI Engine. Our Stage 1 remap will safely take your peak power to 130 BHP and peak torque is an exciting 300Nm with a smooth and consistent torque curve.
We’ve modelled the torque curve for this remap around the 130 BHP variant factory settings, so you will get great drivability and reliability from your Peugeot 208 1.5 BlueHDI 100.
The Peugeot 208 1.5 BlueHDI 100 engine comes fitted with an MHI TD02L11 wastegate regulated turbo charger which delivers great early spool up characteristics and boasts great longevity. This turbo has been proven on the 1.6 eHDI and 1.6 BlueHDI variants over many years with a few small modernisations when applied to the 1.5 HDI Engine. We give a small increase in turbo pressure which stays within the safe tried and tested range of the TD02 turbo.
When driving your Peugeot 208 1.5 BlueHDI you’ll notice an increase in throttle response, more low down torque, and a torque curve which continues to pull in to the higher engine speeds giving great top end power. All of this will make your Peugeot 208 much more fun to drive and we’re sure it will put a smile on your face.
Programming Methods – bench programming
The Bosch MD1 ECU can be programmed using Bitbox and a Scanmatik 2 device.
Programming via Bench service mode over CAN with Bitbox
This is our preferred way to program. The ECU must be removed, but there is no need to open the ECU and risk damage. A full backup can be made of both the EEPROM and the internal flash memories.
- Order a Scanmatik 2 Pro J2534 programming device and a Bitbox dongle with the MD1 license.
- Remove ECU from the vehicle.
- Connect specified wires to ECU plug connector.
- ID the ECU.
- Read the ECU memories.
- Email software to HDI Tuning.
- Wait for us to prepare your remap and return it back to you.
- Program the remap to the ECU using the same method taken to read the ECU.
- Refit the ECU, check engine starts.
- Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!
