Stage 1 (90 BHP | 200 Nm)

Our stage 1 remap is designed to run on a standard vehicle without needing any upgrades. The 1.4 TDCI has a small but very responsive turbo charger and is not fitted with an intercooler. This means it’s important to adjust power (fuelling) to stay well within safe and clean air fuel ratios but we can also get quite a big gain thanks to the extra air available.

The power curve will be continuous and will not drop off like the stock mapping, this means you have a longer usable rev range when you need it for over taking manoeuvres.

As the 1.4 TDCI is generally fitted to small light weight vehicles you will be surprised at the extra power and how it feels like a completely new vehicle. The remap is designed to protect your clutch and will not over stress it, with that said it is important that the clutch is in full working order and not excessively worn.

Stage 2

On the 1.4 68 BHP we skip the stage 2 step as the KP35 turbo is very small and we wouldn’t want to over stress it.

Stage 3 (110-120 BHP | 230-250 Nm)

For the HDI tuning stage 3 upgrade we need to fit the TD02 turbo charger from the 1.6 90 BHP model (from 2010 models onwards). This is not such a straightforward upgrade but it’s worth the extra work, it also bolts on to the manifold, although if you use the entire manifold from the 1.6 this will flow better and matches the exhaust ports of the 1.4/1.6 engine exactly.

You will need to swap the actuator for a pressure actuator, this can be controlled by drilling/tapping a pressure feed into the side of the compressor just like the stock turbo.

Next you must fit a front mounted intercooler, a boost gauge, full exhaust system and a ceramic paddle clutch to handle all that extra torque.

(Another good option is to use a GTD1244VZ turbo from the 1.6 BlueHDI 120, the VNT can be regulated using an external controller called Digibooster-S. This turbo will deliver much better low down boost and also some more top end boost.)

Price: Available upon special request, customers must be technically able and have a good condition reliable vehicle to work with.

Programming Methods – OBD2

The Siemens SID802 804 and 806 ECUs are all of similar architecture and have a 512KB flash memory containing the performance maps.

You can program the ECU yourself using our online remapping service. A great tool to use on the Ford SID ECUs is the Kess V2 tool.

If you prefer to send the ECU to us for the programming work, you can use our postal remap service.

Programming via OBD SID802 804 806

  • Obtain a suitable programming tool; we recommend to use Dimsport MyGenius, you can also use Kess V2.
  • Install the tool to a reliable laptop.
  • Connect to the OBD port of your car, make sure you have backup chargers to the vehicle battery and the laptop battery.
  • ID the ECU and then take a read of the ECUs flash memory.
  • Email the software to remap@hdi-tuning.co.uk along with a description of the remap you require.
  • Send payment through our webshop.
  • We will modify the software and send back to you. This normally takes less than 2 to 3 hours during working days.
  • Using the same tool, ID then write to the ECU. This will overwrite the ECUs flash memory, it’s important not to interrupt the process. If you encounter any problems we can fix the ECU for you so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.
  • Let your engine warm up and then take the car for a spin, enjoy the extra power!
